This fragment was sold by F.R. Martin, who besides being a writer/researcher was also a collector and dealer, to the Berlin Museum in 1898.
This carpet is published in Spuhler, plate 75. It also adorns the cover of the catalogue to the exhibition "Le Ciel Dans un Tapis" that recently was presented at the Museum located in the Institute du Monde Arabe, Paris, France.
