As they were originally found, these two fragments, Plates Sixteen and Seventeen, were sewn together with a border piece similar, or identical to, a border fragment once attached to Plate Fourteen.

For a while it was felt they may all have been from the same carpet but now this is thought to be unlikely. But two fragments are surely from the same carpet and they are knotted on an all-silk foundation.
